The Perfect Morning Routine

This summer flew by and now we are on our way to Fall. Before we know it, it’s going to be Christmas!!!

With the days moving fast sometimes it can be difficult to focus and really use the day wisely. People always ask, “how do you get the day started,” and “do you have any tips to starting your day off on the right track?” This is a great question and suggestion for those who tend to feel sluggish or take hours to get their day going! Imagine if within minutes of waking up you felt great and ready to roll!

I put together the top three tips to getting your day going and jumpstarting your productivity!

PRE-ROUTINE: Start your day off with your favorite morning beverage! This may sound simple but there is nothing more relaxing then waking up to your favorite morning drink. My favorite is a morning cup of Nespresso Coffee with peppermint froth! The smell alone brings brightness to my morning as my body prepares for the day. (P.S I also drink a cup of water first thing to help hydrate my body after sleeping).

  1. Sit in Silence Creating a space of silence with NO DISTRACTIONS in the morning can be one of the most difficult practices to begin. So many of us wake up, reach for our phone, start answering emails, and begin cluttering our minds. Allow yourself to sit in complete silence with no distractions for a minimum of 5 minutes to start with. This will help you wake up, put your mind in a positive space, and prepare for your active and full day!

  2. Feed Your Mind Feeding your mind with knowledge, inspiration, quotes, and simple content can really jumpstart your day with motivation and creativity. Read a few pages from a book, listen to a podcast, read some quotes! All of these outlets will help your mind get on track and become stimulate with ideas and creativity. Don’t feel overwhelmed by this as 5 minutes of this practice can make a huge difference.

  3. Move That Body Now I know you are probably thinking, “What does that mean and when do I have time for this in the morning!?” However, it is proven that moving your body in the morning with even just 15 minutes of physical activity can create mental stimulation and more energy throughout the rest of your day. You don’t necessarily have to go to the gym. Small and short exercises can do the job!

“Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.”― Lemony Snicket, The Blank Book
