Nourish Your Mind, Increase Your Happiness!

I have to tell you the truth, the past few weeks I have been feeling grumpy and down. I have been trying to figure out why and it suddenly hit me this past weekend! This past month has been a beautifully busy season, so much so that I haven't picked up a book from my nightstand in weeks. This simple act of reading and feeding my brain was affecting my behavior in a negative way because it was being ignored! It is true that the more you know and understand the easier it is to pave your way through life. The human mind and reactive system above all is what makes us the most unique creature on the planet. We have the capability to gather information, store it, and then use it to get what we want in life.

Constantly feeding your mind will take you to new heights not only professionally but personally. Learning facts, hearing stories, and feeling empowered through multiple resources is a necessity to being alive. Knowledge to humans is what water is to plants. If you stop watering the plant it will dry up and eventually die due to a lack of stimulation and nourishment. The human mind is the same way! If we stop feeding it valuable and positive information it will become stagnant, sit in it’s misery, and eventually dry up.

Remember that your body and mind work together and need each other. Nourishing your mind is a crucial part of living a healthy lifestyle. Your mind impacts your body, how you behave, and your success! Everything you are comes from your mind!

As mentioned by Theresa Ho (tinybuddha.com) “When you nourish your mind, the thoughts you create trigger chemical responses in your body that help increase your happiness, lower your stress, and allow your body to function in homeostasis.”
